In a recent meeting held on March 3, 2025, the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg celebrated significant milestones, including the appointment of Frank Johnson as the new City Attorney and the recognition of outstanding employees.
Johnson, who has dedicated over eleven years to the City, brings valuable experience to his new role. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the achievements of Community Planning Manager Jasmine Forbes and the Holiday Giving Team, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to the community.
Frank Johnson was officially sworn in as City Attorney during the Mayor and City Council meeting. With eleven years of experience in the City, Johnson previously served as Deputy City Attorney, where he advised various Commissions, Committees, and Boards on land use regulations, Public Information Act requests, and municipal compliance. As City Attorney, he will represent the City in legal matters, attend council meetings, and monitor changes in laws affecting the City.
During the same meeting, Community Planning Manager Jasmine Forbes received the Employee of the Fourth Quarter Award for her exceptional support and mentorship within the Department of Planning and Code Administration. The Holiday Giving Team, consisting of Christine Kigonya, Mary Armbruster, and Renee Nicolosi, was honored as Team of the Fourth Quarter for their outstanding efforts in the City’s successful Holiday Giving campaign, which raised $23,385 and supported 167 families.
