Wind Advisory Issued for Parts of Montgomery County

Alert Montgomery issued the following on Wednesday, March 5, at 11:20am: “A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Central/Southeast Montgomery County until 4:00 pm Wednesday, 3/5. Expect wind gusts greater than 40 mph. Wind gusts of this magnitude will make driving high profile vehicle difficult, and cause loose outdoor objects to be blown around. Secure loose outdoor objects to prevent property damage.”

Per the National Weather Service: ..WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…South winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph.

* WHERE…DC, and portions of central, northern, and southern
Maryland, and central and northern Virginia.

* WHEN…Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
