The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with The Peterson Companies and rio, will host the 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at rio, located at the intersection of Rio Boulevard and Grand Corner Avenue and starting at 10am. Free parking will be available in three garages along Washingtonian Boulevard.
According to the City of Gaithersburg, the parade will feature dozens of participants, including Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, fire trucks, equestrian units, and various service organizations. This year’s Grand Marshal will be Claudia Chitty, a Board Member of Soroptimist International of Upper Montgomery County. The parade will be emceed by Carolyn Muller, Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture.
The City of Gaithersburg notes that participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade by groups or organizations other than City of Gaithersburg officials, departments, or committees does not constitute an endorsement by the City of Gaithersburg.
