Visit Montgomery will host the inaugural MoCo Eats Food & Beverage Showcase on March 30-31, 2025. The event will be divided into two segments: a Consumer Expo on Sunday, March 30, and a Hospitality Conference on Monday, March 31. Both events offer food enthusiasts and industry insiders a wide range of experiences.
Consumer Expo: A Taste of the Capital Region
The first day of the showcase will be open to the public, offering attendees a chance to sample and purchase local food and beverage products. The Consumer Expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature tastings, product displays, and interactive experiences.
Among the confirmed businesses are Bell’s Reines, known for their mini cookies, and Boyd Cru Wines, representing the region’s growing wine industry. Other highlights include East Oaks Farm, which specializes in locally sourced products, tapas from El Mercat, and Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn, a crowd favorite. With over 90 businesses confirmed, the expo is expected to draw significant interest from locals and visitors.
“This is a unique opportunity for people to explore the incredible flavors right in their own backyard,” said Kelly Groff, President & CEO of Visit Montgomery. “It’s all about supporting local businesses and celebrating the diversity of the area’s food and beverage industry.”
To gamify the experience, event attendees can download the Visit MoCo app and check in at each table for a chance to win the Ultimate MoCo Eats Giveaway.
Hospitality Conference: Industry Insights and Innovations
The second day of the event will focus on the business aspects of the food and beverage industry. The Hospitality Conference will gather restaurateurs, hoteliers, and entrepreneurs for a day dedicated to education and networking. Many attendees are eagerly anticipating the keynote address by Seth Goldman, co-founder of Just Ice Tea, PLNT Burger, and Honest Tea. Goldman is recognized for his leadership in sustainable business practices and food innovation. He will share his journey and provide advice on scaling purpose-driven businesses in today’s evolving landscape.
Visit Montgomery is also thrilled to have Sean Makulowich, Founder & CEO of IdeaFire, an award-winning marketing and AI consulting and training firm. Sean will lead a cutting-edge session titled “Hospitality Innovation in the Age of AI”, exploring how AI technology is revolutionizing the hospitality industry.
In addition, the conference will feature expert panels covering a variety of topics, including sustainable business practices, promoting inclusivity in the workplace, how to navigate the startup process, and encouraging the sourcing of local products.
Montgomery County Public Schools’ Hospitality Program will showcase its young culinary talents and demonstrate their business skills in a Shark Tank-style event.
