In October we let you know that Japanese retailer UNIQLO is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. Last month we know the retailer has received a permit valued at $1.425 million to build out the store, and now we know the store is aiming for a late spring opening, according to a representative from the Downtown Silver Spring location.
The new store will occupy the space previously held by Express on the upper level of the mall. Renowned for its “high-quality, made for all” clothing, UNIQLO is expected to officially open its doors in mid-2025, as confirmed by Westfield. The retailer currently operates locations in Montgomery County, including Pike & Rose and Downtown Silver Spring.
UNIQLO will join a lineup of new retailers at the mall, which includes Abercrombie & Fitch, Carters, and Tory Burch. Founded in Yamaguchi, Japan, in 1949 as a textiles manufacturer, UNIQLO has since evolved into a global brand with over 1,000 stores worldwide, committed to delivering quality and innovative textiles.
