Updated at 10:30PM: The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Tuesday night in Gaithersburg.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 7:03 p.m., Gaithersburg Police, Montgomery County Police 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Perry Parkway for the report of a single-vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, first responders located a Toyota Corolla that had crashed into a tree. The 21-year-old male driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead on the scene. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatal collision and more information will be released as it becomes available, including the name of the deceased, following proper notification of next of kin.”
Motorists are advised to expect an extended closure and are encouraged to seek alternative routes. We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
