Hill Country to Close Permanently After Nearly 15 Years

Hill Country, located at 410 7th Street NW DC, has shared that it will be closing permanently on Friday, March 28th after nearly 15 years of service in DC.

Founders Marc and Kristen Glosserman opened the first Hill Country Barbecue Market in New York City in 2007 to share the “warm memories of barbecue joints and family meals combined with the creative spirit and live music he [Marc] enjoyed over years of summertime family gatherings” in Texas. The DC location opened in 2010. The following message is posted at the entrance of the restaurant:

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Aiter nearly 15 amazing years, Friday, March 28th will be our last day of service at 410 7th Street. Despite our efforts to extend our lease, our landlord has chosen to end it.

Bringing Central Texas Barbecue to DC has been our pleasure and an incredible journey, made possible by our amazing guests, neighbors and staff. Thank you for your support, your stories and the memories.

We’d love to see you in our New York City restaurant – and hopefully we’ll be back in DC someday.

With gratitude,

The Hill Country Team
