The City of Takoma Park has announced that it will be transitioning from the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to BlueSky.
Takoma Park shared via a news release that over the next 60 days, the city will continue to cross-post content on both platforms. However, as of June 1, 2025, the city will no longer maintain an active presence on X.
Per the release, the decision reflects the city’s “commitment to using platforms that align with the morals and ethics of the community.” Residents are encouraged to stay connected during this transition period by the City of Takoma Park. The image containing the information can be seen below:
