Lines Out The Door For Coffee At a Burrito Spot???

Located in Takoma Park, San Pancho Burritos (7056 Carroll Ave.) offers a taste of San Francisco’s culinary scene, brought to life by husband-and-wife team Carolina McCandless and David Perez. Since opening last July, the restaurant has garnered acclaim as one of the “Hottest New Brunches” and “Hottest New Restaurants.” Today, however, we’re focusing on the coffee that has customers lining up out the door at this popular burrito spot.

The Matcha Horchata Latte and Horchata Cold Brew have garnered a strong reputation in the area, with readers eagerly reaching out to us about these new “must-try” coffees in Takoma Park. Our very own Mr. MoCo stopped by to sample both beverages that have been drawing long lines, and they did not disappoint. You can check out a video preview of both drinks below.

He writes, “Both of the coffees are sweet. If that’s not your thing, then these won’t be for you. The Horchata Cold Brew obviously comes cold, but you can get the Matcha Horchata Latte hot or cold. We opted for cold so that you can see the colors of the coffee.” While these variations weren’t necessarily invented by San Pancho, their versions have definitely caught the eye (and taste buds) of the area, with lines initially forming out the door upon their arrival. “The restaurant was packed on a Sunday, with most customers enjoying a coffee with their burrito…a mix you don’t necessarily see all the time.”

The couple who opened San Pancho also own nearby Cielo Rojo. They first crossed paths in 2012 at a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District, where they developed a passion for the region’s iconic “Mission style” burritos. Inspired by their experiences, they founded San Pancho with the tagline “Born in La Mission,” aiming to deliver authentic burritos crafted from premium ingredients. Their flour tortillas, imported from Mexico, are made in the traditional Sonoran style, while their meats are sourced from local, hormone-free farms. Committed to scratch-made dishes, San Pancho seeks to transport San Francisco transplants and food enthusiasts alike to a little corner of the bay right in their own neighborhood.
