Two juveniles were arrested in Gaithersburg after allegedly burglarizing a gun store in Springfield, VA, where they used a vehicle to ram the entrance and steal multiple firearms before fleeing into Maryland. Montgomery County Police, with assistance from Fairfax County detectives and Gaithersburg Police, apprehended the suspects, recovered multiple stolen firearms, and continue to search for a third suspect.
According to Fairfax County Police, “Today at 1:21 a.m., officers responded to the Dominion Defense store located at 7200 Fullerton Road in Springfield for a commercial burglary alarm. Officers found the store’s front door damaged and multiple firearms stolen.
Through their investigation, detectives learned three suspects used a vehicle to ram the front entrance of the gun store. The suspects then entered the business, stole firearms and fled in a Toyota Tundra. The suspects then stole a Hyundai Tucson before fleeing into Maryland.
Two suspects were apprehended by Montgomery County Police, with the assistance of Fairfax 1, our detectives, and Gaithersburg Police Department. One suspect remains outstanding. Multiple stolen firearms were recovered. The ATF Washington Field Division is assisting in the investigation.
