Redfin, a leading national real estate brokerage, has compiled a list of the “Hottest Neighborhoods in 2025.” This list is based on an analysis that ranks U.S. zip codes within the 150 most populous metro areas, utilizing year-over-year growth in listing views on Redfin.com and the Redfin Compete Score– an indicator of how competitive it is to secure a home in these areas. One Maryland city made it on the list.

Bowie was the only Maryland city– and the only city in the DC Metro area– to make it onto the list. Situated in Prince George’s County between Washington DC and Annapolis, Bowie is described as an ideal location for commuters, with both major cities accessible within a 30- to 40-minute drive along Highway 50 in either direction.
Local Redfin Premier agent Wemmy Collins noted that the Bowie area covered by the 20716 zip code features a balanced mix of new developments and slightly older, more affordable homes.“Every time I get a home listing in Bowie, I know it’s going to sell fast. And whenever I see multiple offers, it’s usually in the Bowie area,” she stated. “This zip code may be the last area in Bowie where you can find good deals.”
In the 20716 zip code, which is part of the Washington, D.C. metro area, the median sale price is $512,288, reflecting a 2.7% increase year-over-year. This is lower than the metro area’s median sale price of $558,990, which has risen by 4.5%. Homes in this zip code are selling faster, with a median of 31 days on the market, down by 5 days from last year. Additionally, home sales have surged by 31% year-over-year, and the median views per listing have skyrocketed by 140%. Notably, 38% of homes in this area sold for above their list price.
