Maryland Resident Pat Sajak to Temporarily Return to Wheel of Fortune Starting April 30th

Maryland-resident Pat Sajak’s final spin as host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune is just weeks away. Although he stepped away from Wheel of Fortune in June 2024, the game show host will return to helm episodes of the spinoff series one last time.

Sajak and his wife Lesly Brown-Sajak are longtime residents of Severna Park, MD. Sajak has received 19 nominations for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host, winning three times. As a longtime Maryland resident, he has become an avid fan of the Washington Capitals and has been a season-ticket holder, making an on-ice appearances, for years– including prior to Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2018.

He will return to Wheel of Fortune– currently in its 42nd season in syndication. The game show was originally created by Merv Griffin in 1975 as an NBC daytime show based on the popular game “Hangman” and debuted in syndication in 1983. Ryan Seacrest currently hosts with co-host Vanna White, and Jim Thornton serves as announcer.

The celebrity version of the gameshow returns Wednesday, April 30th to ABC and next day on Hulu, kicking off with new episodes of Pat Sajak’s “Final Spin” as host of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT).

Hosted by pop-culture legends Pat Sajak and Vanna White, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” welcomes celebrity contestants to spin the world’s most famous Wheel and solve puzzles for a chance to win $1 million for the charity of their choice. The all-star lineup for Sajak’s “Final Spin” as host includes Cameron Brink, Josh Gad, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Rachael Harris, Ellie Kemper, Justin Long, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, Oscar Nuñez, Randall Park, Andrew Rannells, Sam Richardson, Matt Walsh and Rainn Wilson.
