The Montgomery County Police Department’s (MCPD) 3rd District Commander, Captain Jason Cokinos, has shared that high visibility patrols by MCPD will be added in and around Downtown Silver Spring parking garages later this week.
Downtown Silver Spring parking garage security is being enhanced through a partnership between the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) and MCPD. MCDOT currently conducts security patrols in the garages, and Cokinos shared that starting later this week, high visibility patrols by MCPD will be added in and around the downtown parking garages.
Per Cokinos, the mission of these patrols is to enhance safety and target car thieves. MCPD reminds motorists to lock their car doors and avoid leaving valuables in open view within their vehicles.
