23-Year-Old Arrested and Charged With Homicide

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced the arrest of a 23-year-old Prince George’s County man in connection with the March 8, 2025, shooting death of 23-year-old Jonah Kimindu Mutua on Fairdale Terrace in Silver Spring.

According MCPD, “On Friday, April 4, Douglas David Lacey was arrested without incident in Upper Marlboro by members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Montgomery County Police Department Task Force Officers, with assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division identified Douglas Lacey as a suspect in the homicide. Based on evidence linking Lacey to the shooting, detectives requested and obtained an arrest warrant on Wednesday, April 2, charging him with first-degree murder. Lacey has been transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.”
