Commas Food Hall, a new 13,000-square-foot food destination on the third level of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Rd) in Downtown Silver Spring, is slated to open later this spring. One of its featured stalls is Tokoa Cheesesteaks, which local food reviewer “Big Schlim” has rated with his highest honor, “STAMP,” after several visits.
Tokoa was created when two restaurant veterans and long-time friends joined forces to create a dining destination that “melds together talent and passion.” The restaurant, which opened its first location in College park, writes, “We’re obsessed with creating delicious experiences. Our menu is a fusion of creativity and quality, featuring signature cheesesteaks, flavorful tacos, crispy mac & cheese bites, and quesadillas. Each item is a testament to our commitment to crafting unforgettable flavors.”
Chefs Evelyn Cruz and Delmy Hernandez promise to tantalize taste buds with a menu that blends beloved classics with exciting new offerings. With creative tacos, quesadillas, and reinvented cheesesteaks available, Tokoa says that each bite is guaranteed to deliver quality and satisfaction. They cheesesteak variations offered include the Philly cheesesteak (Shaved Ribeye, onions, Cooper Cheese, Salt and Black Pepper) and versions that align more with our regional “steak and cheese.”
