100+ Participate in 2025 Kentlands Bar Crawl for Charity; Event Has Raised More Than $3,500

The Kentlands Bar Crawl, an event that began over 20 years ago, attracted over 100 participants this year and raised over $1,100 for The Rainbow Place Shelter.

Rainbow Place is an emergency shelter dedicated to supporting women at the beginning of their transition out of homelessness. Their primary focus is to ensure the safety of the women they serve during the harsh winter months and to assist them in moving towards stable housing.

Kristin Johnston, one of the newer organizers who joined original organizers Sue Kravitz and Debbie Freedman, introduced the event’s charitable aspect in 2023. She noted that the bar crawl has raised over $3,500 in the last three years.

This year’s participating venues included Vasili’s, Burton’s, Dog Haus, Cinco De Mayo, Vine Alley, and Brews & Barrels. A second 2025 bar crawl is being organized for the fall, with proceeds supporting Comfort Cases. Photos by Kristin Johnston below.
