Beyond Comics to Host Free Comic Book Day with Food Drive and Special Guest on May 3

Beyond Comics at 18749 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg will celebrate Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, with free comics, a food drive benefiting the Frederick Food Bank, and a special appearance by comic creator John Watkins Chow.

Per Beyond Comics: “Comic fans, mark your calendars! Beyond Comics is thrilled to once again participate in Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, bringing the excitement of comics to the community with free comics for everyone—no strings attached!

As part of this nationwide celebration, Beyond Comics will be handing out a wide variety of free comic books from top publishers, perfect for readers of all ages and interests. Whether you’re a longtime collector or brand-new to the world of comics, there’s something for everyone.

But that’s not all—Beyond Comics is taking the celebration a step further with a special community giveback opportunity. Bring in any non-perishable food donation for the Frederick Food Bank, and you’ll receive additional free comics as a thank-you for supporting a great cause. Last year, generous fans donated over 500 pounds of food, and this year we’re aiming even higher!

Special Appearance: Don’t miss the chance to meet comic creator John Watkins Chow, who will be making a special in-store appearance during the event. Come chat with him, grab a signature, and learn more about his creative process.

Come for the comics, stay for the community, and help us make this the most successful Free Comic Book Day yet!”
