The following is a brief summary of events by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday night in the Four Corners area of Silver Spring.
According to MCPD, “at approximately 10:41 p.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 10400 block of Colesville Road near Southwood Avenue for a single vehicle collision.
There, they located a black Kia Telluride that struck a utility pole. The adult female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision, but multiple witnesses called to report the crash. Pepco is on scene replacing the pole. Currently, there is only one lane open in the southbound direction.
The Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating and a news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the deceased, following proper notification of next of kin.”
