Cuppa Tea Announces Soft Opening on Thursday, April 17

Cuppa Tea has announced its upcoming soft opening in the space that was previously home to Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike. Tea-Do X Mochinut closed permanently last October. The dual concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe.

Cuppa Tea made its Montgomery County debut at nearby 1112 Taft Street before making the move into this space. The tea spot announced, “Cuppa Tea Rockville is having its soft opening this Thursday, April 17th, 2025 — and we can’t wait to welcome you! Come by and be one of the first to experience our new space!”

The shop offers Hong Kong-style milk tea and is a popular brand with over 800 locations worldwide. Cuppa Tea made its U.S. debut when it opened in late 2021 in New York’s Flushing and Queens and Prince George’s County’s College Park.

In addition to Hong Kong-style milk tea, Cuppa Tea has offered Taiwanese food like bento boxes, egg waffles, curry balls, and more. It’s unclear whether the upcoming location will include all offerings. The news of Cuppa Tea taking over the space was first reported by MoCo Today.
