Mayor Jud Ashman and members of the City Council hosted the 2025 State of the City address on Thursday, April 10, at Asbury Methodist Village’s Rosborough Cultural Arts and Wellness Center. The video can be seen below.
Per the City of Gaithersburg: More than 140 guests attended the reception and presentation, including civic partners who serve on City boards, commissions & committees, elected officials, community leaders, and others whose involvement is invaluable to the Gaithersburg community.
Mayor Ashman’s address featured several stories that focused on service in the City and commitment to the Gaithersburg community. The State of the City event serves as the platform for the presentation of the City’s annual Distinguished Resident, Outstanding Organization, and Distinguished Friend awards.
The Distinguished Friend Award was presented to the Veterinary Service Team of the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center for providing care and treatment to animals in the City. The Outstanding Organization Award was presented to the Carnegie at Washingtonian Center in recognition of its contributions to the Gaithersburg community. Gaithersburg Planning Commission Chair John Bauer was named the 2025 Distinguished Resident. A published version ofthe Mayor’s address is available here.
