Montgomery College is calling on heroes to answer an extraordinary volunteer opportunity. On April 26 at the MC Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, the college will host a Mass Casualty Training Exercise designed to simulate emergency scenarios and prepare future health professionals for real-world crises.
Volunteers are needed to play the roles of patients and visitors in staged emergencies, providing a realistic environment for aspiring nurses, EMTs, and other health professionals to hone their skills. This immersive exercise will allow participants to experience firsthand the rapid, high-pressure environments common in emergency medicine.
The commitment is for six hours, from 7 am to 1 pm. In return for their time and energy, all volunteers will enjoy free pizza and snacks. Additionally, participants will receive a certificate of participation. One of the highlights of the exercise is the use of advanced makeup effects, known as moulage, which will transform volunteers into realistic patient characters.
