All Forever 21 locations are scheduled to close by May 1, 2025, including the store at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.
The chain has been running going out of business sales since mid-February. According to the company, “Forever 21 is an iconic North American retailer that captured the hearts and minds of teenagers looking to sport the latest styles at affordable price points through the 90s and 2000s. Recent competition from online fast fashion companies like Shein and Temu put Forever 21 under immense pressure, ultimately resulting in the company’s bankruptcy filing in the US.”
Forever 21 previously had Montgomery County locations at Ellsworth Place in Downtown Silver Spring, Wheaton Mall, and the now-closed Lakeforest Mall.
