Buc-ee’s is gearing up for its first Virginia location with a hiring event ahead of its anticipated summer 2025 opening in Rockingham County (Mount Crawford, VA)– a roughly two hour drive from Montgomery County, MD.
A little more than one year after breaking ground, the Texas-based favorite is set to open a 74,000-square-foot destination at the exit 240 interchange along Interstate 81 near Harrisonburg, VA. The new store will feature 120 fueling positions alongside the extensive snack, meal, and merchandise options the brand is known for, including Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries. Guests can also expect the award-winning restrooms, quality products, and excellent service that have made Buc-ee’s a beloved name in the South for over 40 years.
In preparation for the launch, Buc-ee’s is holding a hiring event at the Hotel Madison Shenandoah Valley Conference Center located at 710 S. Main Street in Harrisonburg. The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 13th through Thursday, May 15th. Buc-ee’s is hiring for several positions, including cashier, deli/food service, grocery, gift, and janitorial/maintenance roles, with hourly wages ranging from $18.00 to $24.00. In addition to paid weekly wages, the full-time positions offer medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 6%, as well as three weeks of paid time off.
The company encourages interested candidates to apply online, though walk-ins are welcome at the event. While their New Kent County location in Virginia, initially announced in 2023, has been postponed to 2027, Buc-ee’s is targeting a total of four Virginia locations in the coming years. No planned Maryland locations as of now.
