Maryland resident Pat Sajak is gearing up for his final spin as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Although Sajak stepped down from his long-time role on Wheel of Fortune in June 2024, he will return to lead episodes of the spinoff series one last time, starting this Wednesday, April 30th.
Sajak and his wife, Lesly Brown-Sajak, have been long-time residents of Severna Park, MD. Over his illustrious career, Sajak has received 19 Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Game Show Host, winning three times. As a dedicated Maryland resident, he has become an avid fan of the Washington Capitals, holding season tickets and making on-ice appearances for years, including before Game 3 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals.
Sajak will be returning to Wheel of Fortune, now in its 42nd season in syndication. Originally created by Merv Griffin in 1975 as an NBC daytime show based on the popular game “Hangman,” the show debuted in syndication in 1983. Currently, Ryan Seacrest hosts the show alongside co-host Vanna White, with Jim Thornton serving as the announcer.
The celebrity edition of the game show will return on Wednesday, April 30th, airing on ABC and available the next day on Hulu. This season kicks off with Pat Sajak’s “Final Spin” as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune from 8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT.
Hosted by pop-culture icons Pat Sajak and Vanna White, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune invites celebrity contestants to spin the world’s most famous Wheel and solve puzzles, all for a chance to win $1 million for the charity of their choice. The star-studded lineup for Sajak’s final stint as host includes Cameron Brink, Josh Gad, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Rachael Harris, Ellie Kemper, Justin Long, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, Oscar Nuñez, Randall Park, Andrew Rannells, Sam Richardson, Matt Walsh, and Rainn Wilson.
