The Laurel Police Department has shared news of 47 vehicle break-ins, with local residents now reporting more than 90 broken into in the early hours of Sunday, May 4th.
Per the Laurel Police Department on Sunday afternoon: “During the early morning hours of May 4, 2025, more than 47 vehicles in the city of Laurel were broken into, with valuables stolen. Our partners in surrounding jurisdictions have also experienced a surge in vehicle break-ins.
The footage from the community that we have received so far shows a group of individuals, some of whom are wearing head lamps, roaming through parking lots and breaking car windows to gain entry.
We urge residents of the city of Laurel and the greater Laurel area to review footage from their doorbell and home security cameras for any suspicious activity that may have captured these incidents.
