Maryland Pizza Shop Up For “Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year” Award

The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) unveiled the finalists for the 2025 RAMMYS Awards & Gala last month during a reception that brought together local chefs, restaurateurs, and industry leaders. Andy’s Pizza, with various locations across the DMV including one in Montgomery County, MD (Bethesda), is a finalist for “Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year” (video available below).

Owner Andy Brown, who grew up in Bethesda, was looking in the area since his restaurant began expanding and opened the Bethesda restaurant in September 2023. Andy’s Pizza also has locations in Adams Morgan, NoMa, Navy Yard, Shaw in DC, and more with additional NoVa locations.

The pizza dough undergoes a 72-hour cold ferment and is cooked in a New York deck oven. The process creates a crispier crust with a chewy interior, and a hint of a sour flavor. Andy’s Pizza will also offers salads, wings, fries, and more. Voting takes place here.

Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year: This nominee is a delicatessen, quick-serve restaurant, bakery, mobile food vendor, or coffee shop (with a food menu) that demonstrates a dedication to good food and good service in a fast-casual environment. The nominee must have been in operation for a minimum of one year as of December 31, 2024.
