Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a townhouse fire on Fairfax Road in Chevy Chase on Monday evening.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was caused by a lightning strike and was confined to the attic and roof insulation. No injuries were reported and one family was displaced. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
