Downtown Silver Spring is hosting its 3rd Annual Chalk Fest on Saturday, May 10th from 10am until 4pm– a community celebration of local art and the refreshed 350-foot street mural, Sweet Network, by CHALK R!OT. The event, centered along Ellsworth Drive, features chalk art creations by local artists and groups displayed right on the pavement.
Attendees have several opportunities to participate:
• Design a Chalk Square – registration is available for those wishing to contribute their own artwork.
• Kids’ Creative Corner – a designated space for younger participants.
• Dining alfresco – local Downtown Silver Spring restaurants open their patios for outdoor dining.
• Family Date Package – a chance to win a package designed for a family outing.
Additionally, visitors can stop by the Downtown Silver Spring (DTSS) tent for a drawing. One entry per person is accepted, and eligible individuals aged 21 and older may win a $100 Dog Haus Party gift card along with four Regal Majestic movie passes, totaling a $150 value. The selected winner will be contacted during the week of May 12th.
This event offers community members a chance to experience art along Ellsworth Drive and participate in a variety of activities aimed at celebrating local creativity and togetherness.
