Festival Parade Canceled Due to Propane Explosion

The City of Laurel regrets had announce the cancellation of the Mainstreet Festival Parade scheduled for today due to a propane explosion at the intersection of 4th and Main Streets. The explosion, which occurred during vendor setup, has been contained.

Per the City of Laurel: “Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) crews are on-site and assessing the situation to ensure public safety. At this time, the status of the remainder of the festival is still under review, and further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

We understand the disappointment this may cause and are prioritizing safety above all else. The City of Laurel is actively monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates regarding the festival’s status.
