Man Arrested for Sexual Assault Along Sligo Creek Trail

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police Montgomery County Division have arrested 21-year-old man for fourth-degree sexual assault after he allegedly grabbed a woman along Sligo Creek Trail in Silver Spring on May 6, 2025.

According to the police, “On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Montgomery County Division, arrested Anderson Omar Aguirre Lopez for fourth-degree sexual assault. Earlier in the morning, a woman was walking along Sligo Creek Trail near Sligo Creek Parkway and University Boulevard when she was grabbed on the buttocks by Aguirre Lopez. Officers were in the area during the incident searching for Aguirre Lopez for previously exposing himself along the trail.

Aguirre Lopez is a white, Hispanic, 21-year-old male from Hyattsville, Maryland.
