Port-au-Prince (PAP) Authentic Haitian Cuisine, which opened at 7912 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring in 2018, has closed, according to a report by Source of the Spring.
The restaurant offered traditional Haitian food alongside rotating exhibits of Haitian art and live music. Founded by brothers Roberto (“Chef Don Berto”) and Makendy Massillon, it aimed to immerse guests in Haitian culture through cuisine, artwork, and performances.
The menu featured appetizers like stir-fried codfish and smoked herring with plantain cups; entrées such as fried or stewed goat, turkey, chicken, red snapper, fried beef, salmon, and vegetarian eggplant casserole; and sides including Haitian mac and cheese and desserts like rum or bourbon cake.
