The Montgomery County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at approximately 10:13 p.m. the 1000 block of Ripley Street in Silver Spring.
According to police, the suspect is a Black male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build and dressed in black clothing. He reportedly followed an adult male into an apartment complex, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. After learning the victim had no cash or valuables aside from a cell phone, the suspect fled the scene.
