The Burtonsville Access Road project provides for the construction of approximately 1,400 linear feet of new roadway with two lanes and parking on the westbound side located in Burtonsville, Maryland.
The Burtonsville Access Road begins at the Burtonsville Elementary Access Road and connects to the existing roadway and entrance of Old Columbia Pike (MD 198), for a total distance of approximately 1,400 linear feet.
The new Access Road alignment will connect to existing parking lots and businesses along the corridor and will add streetlights and luminaires to this section. This project duration is approx. 14 months. Construction is scheduled to begin May 2025 with anticipated completion in the Summer of 2026.
Crews will perform work onsite from 7:00am to 5:00pm weekdays and on weekends of it is deemed necessary for the schedule. Work will be done on the project in a closed site until the time that the new construction will tie in to the existing streets. More on the MCDOT project page.
