The Montgomery County Police Department has issued a traffic advisory at 10:34am on Saturday. “Westbound Sam Eig HWY is closed at Fields Road due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”
Public safety reporter Cordell Pugh has shared that very serious injuries are involved with the crash at the Western end of I-370 at the Sam Eig Highway/Fields Road intersection. The scene is being held for reconstruction.
11:17am update by Gaithersburg Police: “Update: Fields Rd is now open to E/B & W/B traffic onto I-370. W/B traffic from I-270 & I-370 is being diverted onto Washingtonian Blvd. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”
