Three Maryland Restaurants Make List of “Where to Find Outstanding Barbecue Around D.C.”

Eater DC has unveiled its “Where to Find Outstanding Barbecue Around D.C.” list, featuring three Maryland restaurants– two of which are located in Montgomery County.

2Fifty Texas BBQ (4700 Riverdale Rd., Riverdale Park): 2Fifty refers to itself as simple, affordable, and memorable. Per the restaurant, “2fifty BBQ, a celebrated barbecue joint, is renowned for its unique approach to traditional American barbecue. Their style is deeply rooted in the Texas barbecue tradition, known for its emphasis on smoking meats over low heat for extended periods.” Visit the restaurant website here.

Money Muscle BBQ (8630 Fenton St. Silver Spring, MD): Money Muscle BBQ is a food truck that is located adjacent from sister restaurant All Set at 8630 Fenton St Plaza 5. Outdoor seating is also available at the Money Muscle BBQ truck and menu items are also offered at All Set and Fryer’s Roadside (12830 New Hampshire Ave in Colesville). The menu includes barbecue items like Texas style brisket, bone-in short rib, bbq rubbed chicken, Carolina pulled pork, turkey legs, smoked wings, sandwiches and more. Silver and Sons BBQ (5362 Westbard Ave., Bethesda): Bethesda native Jarrad Silver Silver opened Silver and Sons BBQ brick and mortar location in the Westbard shopping center a little over a year ago. Main dishes available include short rib pastrami, brined for seven days, and pulled lamb shoulder with garlic-ginger crust. And he doesn’t skip traditional barbecue items, with baby back beef ribs and Freebird Amish chicken. While barbecue is the star of the show, the menu also leans heavily on seasonal vegetables, with sides on the lighter side using fresh juices, spices, and herbs to balance out the richness of the proteins.
