State Highway Administration to Resurface Portion of MD 28 in Rockville for the Rest of the Month

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a resurfacing project on MD 28 (Norbeck Road) between MD 586 (Veirs Mill Road) and Bauer Drive in the city of Rockville tonight. Weather permitting, all work is expected to be complete by the end of the month.

Per MDOT: The project will include milling (removing the top layer of asphalt), paving and restriping the nearly two-mile stretch of MD 28. Drivers can expect single and double-lane closures, weeknights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Additional closures and work hours may be necessary to expedite the project schedule.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.  Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the projects.
