Juneteenth Transit Schedule Announced: County Offices Closed, Ride On and Metro on Holiday Service

Montgomery County has announced that for the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, June 19, County offices will be closed and most transit services, including Ride On buses and Metrorail, will operate on holiday or weekend schedules, with parking free at public garages, lots, and meters.

Per the news release: “Below is the transportation-related holiday schedule for the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, June 19:

  • County offices – Will be closed.
  • Ride On Flash bus service – Will operate on a Weekend/Holiday schedule (Orange Route only). The Blue Route (typically, weekday only) will not be in service.
  • TRiPS Silver Spring Commuter Store - Will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store - Will be closed.
