WMATA shared at 9:39am that overnight, maintenance crews detected a hydraulic fluid leak from machinery in the area between Union Station and Takoma.
Due to the need for an extensive cleanup to address potential environmental concerns, Red Line trains are currently operating on a single track. Officials are working to resolve the issue and restore complete service as soon as possible.
