The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center at 7315 Muncaster Mill Rd in Derwood is urgently seeking short-term foster homes for dogs and cats as rising temperatures inside its near-capacity shelter pose a risk to the animals. A mechanical issue is affecting the building’s cooling system, and temporary fosters are needed to keep pets safe and comfortable until repairs are completed.
