The City of Gaithersburg’s SummerFest will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 6pm to 11 pm. Due to the event, the Gaithersburg Police Department has issued a traffic advisory that begins at 5pm on Saturday.
Per Gaithersburg Police: “Starting at 5PM, there will be lane reductions along S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355) adjacent to Bohrer Park and there will be a change in traffic patterns for the event. Vehicles will not be allowed to cross over or turn left onto S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355) between Cedar and Central Avenues. Plan your route accordingly. If you are not attending the festival, please take alternate routes to avoid the area completely.
Crossing guards will be stationed along S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355) at the intersections of S. Summit Avenue, Education Boulevard and Deer Park Road. There will be many pedestrians in the area; please use caution. To ensure pedestrian safety, S. Summit Avenue between Hutton Street and S. Frederick Avenue will close to vehicles at 5 p.m.”
