Since its founding in October 1995, the Olney-based Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association (ThyCa) has been dedicated to creating a robust network of services connecting thyroid cancer survivors and healthcare professionals across the globe. Recently, ThyCa was selected as a nonprofit partner in the Giant Food Community Bag Program for July 2025, a partnership that will help further its mission to educate and support the worldwide thyroid cancer community while investing in crucial research.
Throughout July, for every $2.75 reusable Community Bag purchased at the Giant Food store located at 18140 Village Mart Drive in Olney, ThyCa will receive a $1 donation. These funds will go directly towards supporting the free educational resources, support services, and tools that ThyCa provides to individuals and families affected by thyroid cancer– all at no cost to them.
ThyCa encourages shoppers to consider purchasing a Community Bag during their visits to Giant Food in July. As noted by the organization, “If you’re shopping at Giant in July, please consider picking up a Community Bag at checkout. Go to ThyCa.org for information about our support services.”
This initiative not only supports ThyCa’s mission but also enhances community engagement and awareness around thyroid cancer, contributing to a vital cause that impacts many lives.
