City of Gaithersburg Hosts its Annual SportsFest on July 12th

The City of Gaithersburg is hosting its annual SportsFest– an event that celebrates all things sports with a morning full of fun and activity for youth entering grades K through 8. This free, rain-or-shine event takes place at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm on Saturday, July 12th and highlights the City’s philosophy of participation over competition.

The day kicks off the day with the SportsFest 3K Run Fundraiser at 8am, a community event benefiting the City Youth and Teen Sports Programs. All registered participants who signed up by June 16th will receive City of Gaithersburg Sports T-shirt, and additional shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following the run, the event will kick things off with a short celebration before opening its lineup of free sports challenge stations from 9 to 11 AM. Participants can test their skills in:

  • Soccer
  • Football
  • Baseball
  • Track & Field
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Inflatable Obstacle Course

Stations will be located on the front field and inside the Activity Center.
