Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Traffic on Westbound Bay Bridge

A multi-vehicle crash on the westbound Bay Bridge/US 50 has led to significant traffic disruptions this afternoon. The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) reported the incident at 12:15 p.m., stating that all westbound lanes were blocked due to the crash, which involved entrapment.

Emergency responders, including a medivac team, were quickly dispatched to the scene. By 12:35 p.m., the medivac had arrived, but all westbound lanes remained closed, resulting in delays in both directions of the bridge.

The MDTA has issued a safety reminder to motorists on the Bay Bridge, urging them to remain in their vehicles during the delays. Exiting vehicles is discouraged to ensure safety and facilitate the work of emergency personnel.

Drivers are advised to expect significant delays and are encouraged to seek alternative routes if possible. The MDTA will provide updates as the situation develops and the lanes are cleared.
