Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded early Friday morning to a collision involving a vehicle into a building on University Blvd. West near Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the vehicle struck a large residential structure and damaged a gas meter, sparking a gas-fed fire that extended into the home. Multiple units responded to the scene, and the fire has since been extinguished. The driver was transported for medical evaluation, and 14 residents have been displaced as a result of the incident.
