Volunteer EMT Arrested on Child Sex Abuse Charges Dating Back to 2004

The Fairfax County Police have announced the arrest of Christopher Dudley, a volunteer EMT with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS), in connection with multiple incidents of inappropriate contact with minors dating back to 2004.

Dudley, 46, of Fairfax, was charged with eight counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery and eight counts of Indecent Liberties by Custodian after four victims came forward during an investigation initiated by a referral from Child Protective Services.

According to the BBCRS, Christopher Dudley, a life member who has volunteered with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS) since 2002, has been placed on involuntary administrative leave and suspended from all BCCRS activities following his recent arrest. While he has not been active with the squad since June 16, 2025, BCCRS expressed deep concern over the allegations and affirmed its commitment to public trust and safety.

Montgomery County Fire Chief Corey Smedley issued the following statement:

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) has been notified that Christopher Dudley, a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician assigned to the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, was arrested by Fairfax County Police and charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with minors.

MCFRS takes these allegations seriously. We are fully cooperating with Fairfax County authorities and will conduct an internal investigation into this matter.

We are working collaboratively with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS). While the investigation is ongoing, Mr. Dudley has been placed on involuntary administrative leave, and he is suspended from all MCFRS and BCCRS facilities, activities, and systems.
