Six Flags America has canceled its annual Fright Fest event for the 2025 season and will instead offer Kids Boo Fest, a daytime, family-focused alternative beginning September 13.
The cancellation comes as the park prepares for permanent closure on November 2, 2025. In May, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced it would close Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor and market the 500-acre property for redevelopment as part of a strategic portfolio realignment. CBRE is handling the sale.
After Labor Day, the park will operate on weekends only, with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. All 2025 tickets and passes remain valid through the final day of operation.

Sundays: 11am to 6pmWith a focus on daytime fun, we’ll offer the family-friendly fall entertainment and activities of Kids Boo Fest beginning September 13 coupled with your favorite thrill rides. This means that our spooky Fright Fest event will not return this fall.
To thank our valued passholders, all Six Flags America passholders will receive one free ticket to visit Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest weekends and select days September 12 to November 2.
