76th Annual Montgomery County Fair Kicks Off Today

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair opens today, Friday, August 8, and runs through Saturday, August 16, marking its 76th annual celebration.

The fair will be open from 3 p.m. to midnight on opening day (gates close at 11 p.m.), and from 10 a.m. to midnight on August 9, 15, and 16, with gates closing at 11 p.m. each night. From August 10 through 14, the fair will operate from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. (gates close at 10 p.m.). Family Days, featuring discounted ride wristbands, are scheduled for August 11 and 12. This year’s food and drink offerings include Lone Oak Brewery, Doc Waters Cidery, New Orleans Style Snow Balls, Dippin’ Dots, Corn Guys, Churro Inc., Dickerson Market, and Don Julio’s Kitchen. Grandstand entertainment includes Monster Truck shows on August 13 and 14, the Red Eye Rodeo on August 15, and the Stoney Roberts Demolition Derby on August 16. Taste MoCo will also host its annual Fair Food Awards today.

Founded in 1949, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair has grown to become one of Maryland’s largest county fairs, rooted in 4-H tradition and built by generations of community volunteers. Over 800 volunteers help bring the nine-day event to life each year, continuing a legacy of agricultural education and family-friendly entertainment.
