The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair has crowned its culinary champions for 2025, with a trio of vendors taking home top honors at the annual Fair Foodie Awards. This year’s awards recognized both a newcomer and two returning favorites for their standout dishes and drinks, hosted by our very own Taste MoCo.
Taking the top prize for Best Overall was Deli-ish for their classic Reuben sandwich. This victory is especially sweet for the Dundalk-based business, as this is their first year as a vendor at the fair. Deli-ish is a modern, New York-style delicatessen that operates both a brick-and-mortar location and a food truck serving the greater Baltimore area. Their menu is a delicious fusion of traditional deli fare, like their award-winning Reuben (made with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing on grilled rye), and regional specialties such as crab cakes and crab cake egg rolls.
For Best Dessert, the prize went to New Orleans Snow Balls DMV for their decadent strawberry cheesecake snowball. A veteran-owned business, New Orleans Snow Balls DMV serves authentic New Orleans-style snow balls, which are made with finely shaved, fluffy ice that absorbs flavored cane sugar syrup for a soft texture distinct from a typical snow cone. The company, which is in the process of franchising, is bringing this sweet treat to locations as far as the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
Finally, the award for Best Drink was given to Pacha Mama Juice Co. for their refreshing sweetie smoothie. Pacha Mama Juice Co., a food truck that has been a fair vendor for several years, focuses on promoting healthy living with made-to-order drinks using fresh produce and no added sugar. In a remarkable showing, Pacha Mama also secured second place for Best Dessert with its healthy and delicious açaí bowl. Founded in 2020 at the Olney Farmer’s Market, the business has grown from a tent to a thriving mobile truck, bringing its health-conscious menu to customers across the county.
