The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating an August 9, 2025, fatal collision that occurred in the 22000 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Brookeville in which 30-year-old motorcyclist Patrick Adam Smith of Bowie died after losing control and striking a car on New Hampshire Avenue.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:17 p.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Smith was operating a black 2006 Triumph Rocket III motorcycle and traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control and collided with a silver 2013 BMW 128i traveling southbound on New Hampshire Avenue.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW, an adult male, reported no injuries and was not transported.
