Montgomery County-based apparel company Collars & Co., famously known for its appearance on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new pop-up store in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza this fall.
As first reported by Biz Journals, the 2,900 SF retail space, located at 1643 Rockville Pike, was formerly occupied by Bark! pet store. Founded right here in Montgomery County (Bethesda), Collars & Co. gained national recognition when its innovative line of dress shirt collars and cuffs designed to be worn under sweaters and polos landed them a deal on “Shark Tank” (video below).
During their appearance, the founders impressed the sharks with their ingenuity and business acumen. Mark Cuban joined British businessman Peter Jones on the deal, agreeing to $300K for 10% equity with a $700k line of credit. Securing the investment and mentorship have propelled the company’s growth.
According to Biz Journals, the company announced that this Rockville pop-up will offer an “immersive environment that blends fashion, lifestyle and design” to showcase its apparel. This unique shopping experience will feature several eye-catching elements, including a bespoke custom closet designed by Bethesda Custom Closets and Blinds to elegantly display Collars & Co.’s offerings. Adding to the ambiance, the pop-up will also feature a classic Porsche on display and a private jet replica, creating engaging photo opportunities for visitors.
